Stars End Gathering 9 on Sunday, March 2, 1997, will feature live electronic space music by "The Ministry of Inside Things": Chuck van Zyl & Peter Gulch with guitarist Art Cohen. Synthesists van Zyl and Gulch are considered among the most inventive of US synthesists today, combining electronic, progressive, ambient, space, and sci-fi music. Collaborating since the early 1980s, in 1994 they released the critically acclaimed CD "Regeneration Mode" of pure electronic space music. According to van Zyl, they create "music for the skull cinema."

Both van Zyl and Gulch have been recording electronic music and performing live for more than fifteen years. Van Zyl originally worked under the name Xisle, but is best known as the host of Star's End. Peter Gulch was a member of The Nightcrawlers, the now-legendary synthesizer group from the 1980s electronic music scene in Philadelphia. Guitarist Art Cohen performed a solo set and collaborated with van Zyl at Star's End Gathering 4.
